About TASP

Founded by parents in 1985, the Trumansburg After School Program (TASP), Inc. is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization. TASP is designed to meet family child care needs. Children who attend the Trumansburg Central School in grades PreK through 6 may enroll in TASP. Our program is located at the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses at 69 East Main Street, Trumansburg, NY.

Our current program has three age groups, PreK to 1st grade, 2nd and 3rd grade and 4th to 6th grade. The program operates Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM to 5:45 PM.

The Fun Stuff

Our program is STEM-based and designed to respond to the children’s needs and interests. A variety of educational activities and books are offered each day. Enrichment opportunities are often presented by specialists including (but not limited to) yoga, science, cooking and art.

Each day the children come together with their teachers to discuss their days and share their feelings. This time is followed by a nutritious snack, reading circles and a STEM-based project. When weather allows, children are given the opportunity to enjoy the grounds which include climbing structures, a playground, lawn space and ample room to unwind.

The Logistics

  • Our staff meet the children at Trumansburg Central School at 2:45 PM and walk with them to the program location at the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses at 69 East Main Street, Trumansburg, NY
  • Parents may pick up their child any time at or before 5:45 PM
  • Our point of entry into the building will be restricted following child care recommendations.

What Our Families are Saying

“After school is a challenging time for children. I wanted to find a program that allowed my child to process their day and unwind while also allowing space for creative and educational pursuits. I found that not only does TASP fit that bill, but the teachers go above and beyond to meet the children’s individual needs. In addition, it is clear how much the staff genuinely cares for each child. I am so grateful this program exists in our community’ – KC (child enrolled at TASP 2025-2026)
